New exhibition opens this Saturday in Newport

ROO LEWIS: NEW SHOW + CATALOG
Photographer Roo Lewis will be exhibiting a selection of work from his ‘PORT TALBOT UFO INVESTIGATION CLUB’ project in Clwb Ffoto, Newport this Saturday 21 June.
First published in the much sought-after photobook of the same name by GOST in 2023, the work has been described by Lewis as a ‘love letter’ to the town of Port Talbot – with portraits of many characters from the town, as well as the landscape in and around the surrounding area.
I’m delighted to announce a new Offline catalog, the fifth in the series and a collaboration between Offline Journal, Roo Lewis and Clwb Ffoto, will be available at the exhibition opening event next Saturday evening 6pm - 8pm.
As with previous catalogs in the series, PORT TALBOT UFO INVESTIGATION CLUB measures 210 x 210 mm. With 40 pages inclusive of cover, it is full colour with staple binding and will cost £8.00 from Offline Journal at the opening event.
For anyone who missed the 44-page issue #012 of Offline Journal that carried two articles on Roo Lewis’ photography: an exploration of his commercial work, and a deep dive by David Mayne into Lewis’ PORT TALBOT UFO INVESTIGATION CLUB photobook – I’ll be offering the very last few copies of issue #012 (the ‘Brand of Me’ issue looking at commercial portraiture and headshots) for just £10 per copy. That means you can grab a Roo Lewis ‘Bundle’ of catalog + Offline Journal for £18.
If you can’t make it along to the show opening event on Saturday, limited copies of the new catalog will be available from Clwb Ffoto’s gallery and via Offline’s online store from Monday 23 June.

OFFLINE JOURNAL issue #014
Copies of the limited print run of the latest Offline Journal are still available via the online store.
The new 40-page ‘COLLABORATE’ issue explores various examples of photographers working with others to produce and exhibit new work. An image from Gareth Phillips’ ongoing project exploring movement in dance features on the cover and there is a 4-page article discussing his approach.
There are also a limited number of copies from each of the #012 and #013 back-issues remaining at a reduced price - so be quick if you’d like to bag one!
