DAYZ OUT IN PORTHCAWL: Ron McCormick
Just a quick reminder that Ron McCormick’s new exhibition ‘DAYZ OUT IN PORTHCAWL’ opens this evening (Saturday 26 April) from 6 - 8pm in CLWB FFOTO in Newport.
‘DAYZ OUT IN PORTHCAWL’ has McCormick observe the annual Porthcawl Elvis Festival in full colour, getting up close and personal with the many thousands of Elvis Presley fans and tribute performers who make the annual pilgrimage to the seaside town of Porthcawl.
A new book, 68-page including covers, with an introduction written by Stephen Clarke has been designed and published by www.fistfulofbooks.com and will be available at the show opening.
All welcome.

SIGNATURES: Guest speakers for 2nd event
I’m pleased to announce the two guest speakers for the next SIGNATURES photobook talk event taking place in The Turner House gallery in Penarth on Saturday 10 May 2025.
This second event welcomes photographer, writer and publisher PHIL COPE who will discuss the rich history of collaboration between photographers and poets in Wales and further afield. And professional photographer MARC WILSON will discuss collaboration on his stunning 'REMNANTS' title, his long-running and more recent work on Ukraine, and his approach to long-term documentary photography projects released in photobook form through his two&two press imprint.
There are slightly fewer (30) tickets available for this event due to a scheduled exhibition installation in part of the gallery space so entry is ticket only. Doors open for this free event at 11am and the first talk will start 11.30am. Each talk will last up to 45 minutes with a Q&A, after which a selection of books by both guest speakers will be available to purchase, including Marc Wilson’s new ‘Travelogue 2 - A thousand days of longing’; and Phil Cope’s latest title ‘The Mermaid of Al-Andalus’ (fresh from the printers).
With it’s theme of ‘COLLABORATION’, Offline Journal issue #014 will launch, and be available for non-subscribers to purchase, at the event at The Turner House, Penarth on Saturday 10 May 2025.
Pre-orders to secure a copy of the limited print run by post are available now via www.offline.wales
