#94: Offline Journal Newsletter: 20 Apr '25
Offline Journal's next issue and two new exhibitions coming up
Hello again
Here’s an update on the next issue of Offline Journal, and a couple of photography exhibitions coming up - north and south.
Brian
OFFLINE JOURNAL issue #014
I’m pleased to reveal issue #014 of Offline Journal (with cover image by the talented Gareth Phillips) will focus on the theme of collaboration, and will be available from 10 May 2025.
Wait, what happened to April? A hefty workload of client work (with late nights and early starts) over the last month has unfortunately kept me from nailing down the final layout, artwork and printing of the magazine - so apologies for a slight delay. However, I think/hope you’ll enjoy the various articles exploring different creative collaborations by photographers in producing new work.
Subscriber Plus supporters will also receive a new bumper 16-page Offline Essay supplement with the next issue, written by photographer and author Phil Cope, exploring the long history of collaboration between photographers and poets. It’s a great read.
Offline Journal issue #014 will launch, and be available for non-subscribers to purchase, at the second SIGNATURES photobook talk event at The Turner House, Penarth on Saturday 10 May 2025. Pre-orders to secure a copy of the limited print run will start this Friday 25 April via www.offline.wales
More information on the next SIGNATURES event and the two guest speakers will also be shared this week!
DAYZ OUT IN PORTHCAWL: Ron McCormick
6 - 8pm next Saturday 26 April will see CLWB FFOTO in Newport open their second exhibition featuring recent work by photographer Ron McCormick.
‘DAYZ OUT IN PORTHCAWL’ has McCormick observe the annual Porthcawl Elvis Festival in full colour, getting up close and personal with the many thousands of Elvis Presley fans and tribute performers who make the annual pilgrimage to the seaside town of Porthcawl.
A new book, 68-page including covers, designed and published by www.fistfulofbooks.com, will be available at the show opening next Saturday.
All welcome.

CORPUS | DELICTI: Rolf Kraehenbuehl
Gwynedd-based photographer Rolf Kraehenbuehl has a new exhibition of work titled ‘CORPUS | DELICTI’ opening in Oriel Colwyn on Saturday 17 May.
This project focuses Rolf’s personal connection to promenades, sea walls and their artificial surfaces in Wales as part of our cultural landscape…
In this analogue film project Rolf wanted to imprint the photographs with the essence of the scenes and environments they capture, marking the images with the textures of the artificial surfaces shown.– Oriel Colwyn website
