#99: Offline Journal Newsletter: 9 July '25
Photography in print - publications and a new event!
Hello again
Many thanks to those who have renewed their Subscription to the new Offline Journal - the upcoming changes for the new format, revamped Newsletter and the new group publication appear to have created lots of interest!
See below for some recent news on other photography print-related activities, and a new SIGNATURES event coming up in September!
STATION TO STATION: In print
Having received a copy of the new STATION TO STATION 2020-2025 book, published recently by the Documentary Photography course at the University of South Wales, I sat down with course lecturer Karin Bareman, and Nate Davies—course alumnus and designer on the book—to discuss the project.
Listen to this 8 minute montage from our longer conversation to get a flavour of the Station to Station project and its outputs.
The full 36 minute conversation will be available on the new Offline Journal website on Friday 1st August.

PHOTOZINE & PRINT DAY!
To coincide with their 2025 OPEN EXHIBITION this September, Turner House Gallery and Offline Journal are teaming up once again for the next, and this time a little different, SIGNATURES event.
The lower gallery will again host the next photography event in the SIGNATURES series, but rather than an afternoon of talks on photobooks, Saturday 20 September 2025 will see a day event (11am - 3.30pm) celebrating creative photozines, self-published by photographers from around Wales.
Being a couple of months away, this is a great opportunity to bring together a revisit a project or series of images you have been working on, and share the work with others in photozine form - either as a one-off draft or dummy/maquette, or a small print run to sell to cover your production costs.
Surrounded by a wide variety of stimulating visual art and photography on the walls during the Open Exhibition, the lower gallery will accommodate up to twelve tables; ten of which are being offered COMPLETELY FREE to the first ten photographers or organisations who have a photozine or photozines they wish to show and/or sell.
As alluded to in this Photozine & Print Day event title, photographers will also have the opportunity make photographic prints available to purchase, either as select images from their photozine or other work. Ideally, to make print sales accessible and affordable to visitors, we’d ask photographers offering prints to have at least one print (paper dimensions) at A4 size inclusive of a white border.
If you would be interested in taking a table on the day, please email me at offline.journal@gmail.com
