Offline Journal #010: pre-order now
I’m delighted to announce the new 10th issue of Offline Journal – THE VALLEYS – exploring contemporary photography being made in the south Wales Valleys.
Issue #010 includes articles on the work of Gawain Barnard, David Barnes, Sebastían Bruno, Paul Cabuts, Phil Cope, Ellie Macdonald, David Mayne, Lucy Purrington, Clémentine Schneidermann, Elijah Lewis Thomas, Megan Winstone, Dan Wood and an interview with Siân Addicott on her first year running Ffotogallery. There’s also an opening article by yours truly reflecting on Valleys work being made by others; and all wrapped up in a great cover by Laurie Broughton.
Issue #010 is available for pre-order now and will ship/also be available from Saturday 22 April at Ffotogallery’s Photo Book Fair – during which Paul Cabuts and David Barnes will discuss influential photobooks; and Sebastían Bruno and Alejandro Acín will discuss their new THE DYNAMIC photobook, the show for which opens this Wednesday 6pm at The Martin Parr Foundation (see Exhibitions & Events page in the top menu tab or click the button at the end of this Newsletter).

RIP Garry Stuart
Sad news last week - the family of Garry Stuart got in touch to inform me that Garry passed away on 30 March following a short time in hospital.
I never met Garry but we had a couple of very enjoyable discussions via telephone when we were preparing his HIRAEL Offline Essay supplement a year ago. He was extremely friendly and enthusiastic about sharing his story of photographing in Bangor in north Wales in the 1970s.
It was a real pleasure to have had the opportunity to work with Garry, albeit briefly.
Oh no! Very sad news indeed about Garry. X
