#41: Offline Journal Newsletter : Sept '22
New Offline Journal #009 is ready and ships next week
New issue #009 ships next week
I’m delighted to share the latest issue of Offline Journal which will officially launch next weekend at The EYE International Photography Festival in Aberystwyth - and will ship next week.
#009 is another packed 40-pages, brought together over six months, and contains several articles featuring work by a range of photographers.
Issue #009 features an excellent essay-based article titled ‘The Wasteland: A very British Topography’ by John Crerar. The work centres around photographs made in the late 70s and early 80s by photographer Ron McCormick that are immediately reminiscent of work made by the New Topographics photographers in the USA.
You can view the full contents listing and contributors for new issue #009 on it’s page on the website www.offline.wales/journal-009
Don’t miss out on your copy of Offline Journal. You can order the latest issue or grab a 2-issue subscription, (2 options available with or without supplements) via the button below.
Thanks in advance, Brian.
Offline at Ffotogallery’s Photo Book Fair
I’m pleased to confirm Offline Journal will be taking a table to support Ffotogallery’s Book Fair in Cardiff on Saturday 15 October 11am - 3.30pm.
Attendees can peruse and buy photobooks and zines (and a Journal!) on offer from small indie publishers in Wales. Offline will be offering the latest issue #009 and any remaining copies of back-issues, folio posters and Offline Essays.
In addition to publications, photographic artist Peter Finnemore will be speaking about his new book Looking for Signs - which also features over six pages in issue #009 as a fantastic in-depth interview and book review by Offline contributor Ellie Macdonald.
You can also hear Finnemore introduce his new book the week before (6pm on Thursday 6 October) at the official book launch and opening of an exhibition of a selection of the Looking for Signs work in Ffotogallery.
The exhibition runs 6 - 20 October 2022.
Come along to the Photo Book Fair and say hello on 15 October!
